I believe that paintings can shape the way we live. Just as stories influence the values we carry, art can reinforce the rituals that cultivate hospitality, gratitude, beauty, and belonging.
Living as a runner has taught me that extraordinary lives are built through ordinary rituals. The daily run, the careful meal, the early-morning wake-up — none are remarkable on their own, yet together they shape a person. Painting has taught me the same lesson. I hope my work not only records these rituals, but also encourages them.
The rituals we make time for become the culture of our homes. I hope my artwork doesn’t just encourage people to admire beauty but also to create a home that quietly teaches the next generation that beauty and creativity are worth cultivating.
About Me
I am an American painter who splits my time between Idaho and Colorado.
I studied illustration at Boise State University before spending more than a decade in arts and education.
Working in oil and acrylic, my paintings move between realism and abstraction, drawing inspiration from the dramatic light of Baroque painting and the intimacy of Dutch still lifes. More than recording beautiful objects or moments, I hope my work encourages a way of life—one that values beauty, hospitality, craftsmanship, generosity, and care. If a painting inspires someone to gather flowers from the garden, invite a friend to the table, or simply pause long enough to notice the richness already present in ordinary life, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
